Review on Evolve Downpipes and Evolve-R
As many of you know I recently had a catless Evolve Downpipe installed and had a local shop, VS Motorsports (No longer open) flash my R56 Mini Cooper S. Well I was not able to take any pictures during the install, BUT the good news is my cousin just recently picked up a R56 Mini Cooper and I got to snap some pictures.
The crazy part of this is that he went ahead and purchased both the Catless and HiFlow Downpipes. He was not sure he could bare driving it catless (pissed off wife and whining kids haha)
So here are some pictures:
Top is Catless and Bottom is Hi-Flow Evolve Downpipe
Evolve Engraved into the downpipe
Measurement of Evolve Catless Downpipe:
Outlet side of Evolve Catless Downpipe
Portion that connects to Turbo:
Evolve Hi-Flow Downpipe:
Another Picture of measurement of Hi-Flow Dowpipe:
Close up of welds:

Evolve-R
We placed our order through Evolve with there US contact (pm me for his info) Shipping was really quick as well, we made payment and they arrived very quickly.
Overall, the downpipes are awesome, they seem very well built and the beads of the welds are very nice and penetrate all the way through. Hopefully we will be installing one of the two this weekend. We have already sent Evolve our DME file and hopefully get a new and improved tune on Monday, I will update this thread with more pictures.

he purchased both to see what he can handle driving around daily, he has a wife and kids and he rather not upset them and deal with hearing that the car is too loud or too much drone. They will be ceramic coated and he has has the evolve-r which he should receive a tune shortly

I bought the catless DP from you last year and had it mated with the ALTA exhaust (no 2nd cat) on my 07 S. It was surprisingly quiet even when I got on it. At the same time it was a very good DP IMO. I might just get tempted and mate it with the JCW exhaust. I've seen/heard the videos on YouTube.

Very nice pieces. Excuse my naivety, but what is the advantage of coating/wrapping the DP? Is it to reduce temps in the engine bay, increase durability, or . . . ?
If it would significantly reduce temps under the bonnet, I'd be interested in having my manifold and DP ceramic coated.
Any good coaters in Southern California?

It really depends, on this unit there is no point, from my understanding stainless steel parts do not necessarily need it. I could be wrong, but that is what I have been told. He is doing this because hes likes to keep his stuff pretty and really **** about it. Other parts like steel will be worth it because the high temp paint will retain the temp better
I would not recommend wrapping it if you are dd, moisture can get trapped in it and start to rust the material

2007 cooper s with JCW package and brakes.
Helix intercooler, Dejon cold side intercooler to turbo, dejon inlet, hot side muffler delete, alta intake, forge bypass with boost control solenoid, BC coils, cattless down and JCW exhaust, and currently an AP. Plus crap I forgot...

Don't want to clutter the thread but...
