Tinted the '13 MCS windows

Looks fantastic. I'll snap some pictures tomorrow. Went with 20% all the way around. It's a white/silver MCS so the light-colored paint doesn't make the windows overbearing at 20%. I also have the panoramic sunroof so that lightens things up a tad as well.

Crappy day out, and a little dirty, but here you go.

Note: the big spot you see a little off-center on the left is a camera issue that's getting fixed by Apple tomorrow

Was this done at the mini dealer or some shop around your area? Just wondering how much the cost was if you don't mind me asking

Shop around my area. $150. Lifetime warranty. Used them many times on past cars (2 mazda's, BMW, Wrangler, and Hummer)... done a fantastic job on them all.

Hmm sounds like a good deal. The mini dealer in Dallas quoted me $350 for "premium" quality. Another guy actually told me that it should have been $400 something but he said he would honor that price. I didn't ask him what brand they use but it seems kinda high but I guess that's normal coming from the dealer.

If you're going to a dealer I would expect at least $350. They are crazy high on everything. What is it $100 or way more for an oil change? Just paid $43 and did one this past weekend.

The tint I have is not ceramic (the really nice stuff) but it NEVER purples or changes color, and stays in great condition for years and years (had it for 5+ years on one car... looked like day 1). I've been using the same guy since I got my license back at 16 for all my cars. He's been doing it about 23 years now and is fantastic. Like I said, lifetime warranty and never had to go back and have any bubbles or color changes fixed.

I clean the hell out of my car too... AT LEAST once a week. And that includes the windows and they still never have gone bad on me.

I know it's not the "top quality" stuff that can cost $300+ but if I've personally had experience with it lasting over 5 years on a single vehicle... I'm a happy camper. If I had to go back to the dude every 5 years and get it redone for free I'd still be happy at the price point... but I'm confident it will last beyond 5 years. The person who bought my mazda off me (which is now 11 years old) still has the same tint from when I got it done... it has 1 bubble in the back window that he's yet to get fixed.

reminder...if you go really dark (20%-5%) it takes about 1-2 weeks for all the bubbles to go away. parking it in the sun helps.

5% costed me $140. usually its 180 bc of the 5% but i got a deal this time around..

Since you got the white silver, now it's time for the black out stage:-). I am waiting to finish my gas cap and beltline sometime next weekend!!

White silver looks fantastic tinted!

Yep. This coming weekend will be my gas cap (since it's so easy to get off) and the trim around my headlights/taillights. Also going to black out my hood scoop.

The part I'm worried about is the trim that runs around the bottom of the windows all the way around the car. Am not looking forward to that part.

Out Motoring makes a very nice glossy black tape for the beltline, (about $12.00) looks very good.
here is a pic

i want to do 20% on my pepper white mini but these Ny cops are not friendly to dark tints no sir....so i might go 50% just to avoid the occassional "do you know your tints are dark??" and i reply with "no officer i didn't know when i tinted my car that it was DARK"
