The Scat Mat is water resistant, withstands considerable abuse and it can be walked upon. If it rains, the mat simply gets wet. There is no change in the output properties or effectiveness. However, if a thorough soaking should occur and the Power Pack ceases to operate, it should resume working normally after it dries. They are powered by a 9 volt alkaline battery.

Those vids are great... didn't even know these existed. We have cats and we love them, but we need them to stay off our beds! Definitely trying this product out.

But it says: "The Scat Mat will stop working when it becomes wet, but once dry, it will work again."

I was curious about this point because moisture dissipates static and I wondered how it worked when wet. The OP said he would be using it in dew conditions that would make a car cover wet, so it may be ineffective through much of the night.

Dew will have no effect unless it gets really soaked.

When I put the mats on, I place plastic trash bags under the mats so they wouldn't be directly on the paint, not to mention, the did not like being against metal. They were continuously triggered. I have not had a repeat offense yet so I think they learned. I only used them 2 nights. The third night was rain so I left them off and haven't put them back on yet.
