R56 shifter stem hrlp needed

I just installed the Cravenspeed Shiftwell and the Cravenspped Stainless Steel shift ball.

I installed both on my OEM shift stem (see pic). While it looks ok, I am looking for something a little more refined.

Anyone found a stainless/anodized tube to cover the stock stem? do you have specs?

I will install my Cravenspeed adjustable shifter eventually but need a short term solution.

Thanks in advance.

Have you considered priming and then spraying it. There isn't a replacement stem that I know of unfortunately...

Like you said, http://www.cravenspeed.com/adjustable-short-shifter/ would be the way to go.

But for short term? I would say paint it, or cover the exposed area in vinyl. Maybe try to give it a brushed/shinier look with a little elbow grease?

About 5-10 mins with a scotchbrite pad and some wd40 will give that a nice brushed finish

Or you can measure the OD of the shifter and check McMaster-Carr for some thin walled aluminum tubing to slip over it.

This is more along the lines I was thinking. I could get it anodized or look for a stainless steel equivalent.

I figured someone must have encountered the same thing...

Thanks all, keep suggestions coming.
