You may be right. I have noticed a steady decline in my road race times. In my early 40's I could run a 5k around 18 min/marathon 3:15, In my 50's the power declined and my best 5k's were in the low 20's. my 50 mile time increased to just under 9 hours. In my 60's 5k's are currently hovering around 23-24 minutes. My marathon times have dwindled to 3:57 at age 65 and just recently a 4:36 at. Age 69. I guess as my "power/speed" have declined with my running which may well correlate to my cars decreasing in "power/speed".
I am a fortunate guy, to buy/own what I want at the time. I am even more fortunate to have my health, and do things that were pretty much unheard of back in the 50's. I can't recall seeing anyone even near the age of thirty doing what I do at soon to be 70. Nick
