DIY intake vs. Alta intake

Ok so the short and sweet of it. I have a homemade intake consisting of a silicone bend, a couple of inches of aluminum tubing and a cone filter. I have the money right now to either buy a reputable intake(Alta) or put the money towards something else. The only thing I see is that it looks a thousand times better and when I get the titanium heat shield from WMW I will gladly open my hood if asked. But will I notice any hp gains going from DIY to Alta?

you wont notice HP Gains from any intake. they are simply for looks and sound. if you want your engine bay to look better then get a better intake if you dont care then just stick with DIY one. If you want any chance of HP increase you need to get a intake that is a closed unit and utilizes the hood scoop like the AEM one. But even those are questionable on the HP gains.
