The MINI continues to slumber as it awaits its new turbo....

In the meantime, wheels for the F80....

Curious as to the weight, I'm sure it doesn't matter as much with over 400 HP.

Wheels arrived, front lip painted, splitters clearbra'd. Too much parts, not enough time to play with them. Getting tires mounted tomorrow morning.

On the MINI....still waiting on turbo! I wanted the K04 fully ported, so that's the only thing holding it back at this point. Should ship next Monday or so. Will be taking off hood and JCW side skirts to get repainted. Remove all rockchips and start fresh.

Might wanna double check that your actually getting a fully ported turbo. Another member asked me a few questions about a turbo. Which lead to a detailed inspection of his "fully ported" turbo. He ended up getting his Money back.

MINI hood, side skirts, and wheel arches are all off for repainting. Rock chips galore from all the daily driving and track days.

This time, paint, and then clearbra would address this for the most part. Followed up by another full detail on the MINI and she'll be back in business. Probably looking at another 2-3weeks.

Many shops wouldn't remove the entire paint and just repaint over exising paint and call it a day. This new place I go to....really doing a good job stripped the whole thing and fixing some minor dings.

The fact that they noticed the wheel arches I brought in to get redone and they remarked how the clearcoat was thin and they didn't properly wetsand and buff them showed me that they were definitely going to do a good job.

Yeah, really good pricing too. I had a ballpark at what it would cost and they beat it.

Did you replace the intake manifold gaskets while you had it down?

You must mean the exhaust manifold. Yes it was replaced. Any time I take her apart she gets all new gaskets and bolts. Most important to replace, at least what I think are most important, are the hollow bolts and their washers.

When I have the walnut she'll blasting performed I'll be sure the shop replaces the intake manifold gaskets as well.

I just put it together. That's the last thing on my mind right now as I continue to put it back together...

I meant the intake gaskets . I remember you mentioning you had a possible leak from them and figured you might take care of it while it was down.

Very true!
It has been 3 weeks since I've driven the MINI and having just driven it down the block that was very nice. It'll be another 2 weeks when I can say the MINI is complete.

And the intake gasket will be replaced when Motoring Magic does my blasting

Dropped off my side plates from my Challenge Wing to anodizer. When adjusting the wing, the holes strip the paint off so this way, it's event and perfect finish whenever I need to adjust the wing at the track.

any thoughts on what to do about the lack of cup holders due to the CAE install?

while they're not super necessary they'd be nice. I'm considering modifying the door pockets to fit a cup but haven't measured it/mocked it up yet. I'm still working on a more permanent place for the sport button too
