My air charge must have an issue then if you are not getting that sound?

You all have heard your turbo but didn't realize you were listening to it. I heard my turbo after I rolled off the lot with the windows down. Hard to tell with the windows

I'm not talking about the turbo faint whine. Mine sounds like a leak hiss, when my boost gauge was Leaking. Plus I get low acceleration at 80+mph but that might be normal.

I've never heard it with the windows down. Did your sound like tishhhh leaky sound near the passenger at + 10 psi (with the sound maker removed)

Well listening for it on purpose and not really being able to tell what to listen for I'm sure can play a big factor.
My last car had a 56 trim garret turbo that was almost 3 times as loud as these small mini turbo and was really evident.

Yeah I'm not quite sure what to listen for, but I'll try to listen for it (something). I still think the supercharged cars sound cool.

Mine occurs with my foot on the gas. An example is when I'm going my foot on the gas and leave or push harder ill get the tishh sound from what sounds like the passenger, there is an a air charge pipe currently, it's not the diverter valve I checked. And there are no boost leak. Is it possible to have an internal leak?
I appreciate that, it is a very distinctive sound like if you punctured an air mattress or turned the **** on a compress air tank. Its sounds like compressed air coming out somewhere.

Go on the hunt under the bonnet for split lines on the pressure side of the intake - turbo outlet to engine intake. The split may only open up when that magic 9psi is achieved. Pay close attention to clamps, intercooler, welds and seams.
We used to wrap clamps with foil, then run the pneumatic system and see if the foil was still in place after the run... This may not be practical in a Mini engine bay - use at your discretion...
Good luck...

No not always, when I was installing my AEM CAI I forgot to hook up the passenger side PCV hose and got no codes or check engine lights. I didn't even get any before I had the walnut blasting of intake valves, misfired badly and not one single light or code!

Update* thanks for the help everyone I finally found it I got so tired of it I ripped out all of the vacuum line tubing. Turns out it was one of the lines near the pressure converter not sure which one. But I guess everything around there is not metered air.
Now I just need to buy a new pressure converter because I ripped it off so hard I broke one of the nozzles on it and cause cel :/ yep that's my luck.

New update* it came back again so it probably never left: my guest is that this is normal there are no engine lights and no leaks in either th diverter valve, vacuum lines Or the air charge pipe. My guess the metal air charge pipe is causing more noise then the rubber oem part

Here is a link to the video of the sound. However, the quality is quite terrible. It was taken with my iphone and through file conversions has lost quality; you may need to replay it a couple times. It is a lot louder in person as well. The first second or two is without the hiss so you can get a reference from that.
