Glovebox Shock

So while my '09 MCS was at the dealer getting warranty work done I got a 2013 Justa Clubman. And I noticed that the glovebox door opens nice and smooth like it has a shock on it. Mine just 'clunks' open when i push the button to open it. I purchased it last year and its always been like that so just wanted to find out if they made a change during one of those years or if mine is broken?

Thanks!

Here is the parts.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...32#51167056613

#1 is the part for the lid itself.

#10 is the little damper that mounts to the side. Just sounds like its not working like it should or broken.

Damper Part #51167056613

Thanks

I have the same issue. Do you have any idea how I reach the screw to replace the damper?

Here I was thinking when it said shock, there was going to be some taser device in it or something. I'm kind of disjointed.

Updated that link in the diagram, but maybe through that side panel down by the center console, or the whole box need taken out
