Turbo questions

Have an 07 Mini S that I love. And she loves some oil. I know its the turbo drinking the oil. Can I change the turbo to another brand that doesn't drink it so much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx guys.

If you need a new turbo we have stock ones very cost effective with no tuning or other mods needed like a big turbo would

You might want to get it looked at first, replacing the turbo is expensive, even if you do the work yourself. How much are you losing, how many miles on it? There are some good threads on here about some consumption is normal. From the research I've done, some consumption is due to the PVC venting into the turbo..

I would check the oil lines first. The OEM ones have been known to fail. Leaky oil can give the appearance of over consumption.

Hey guys sorry been busy. And out of town. I have 51000 miles and she's drinking the oil. No leaks. I'm losing a quart every week on playing and one every two if I drive easy. It's killing me. She shouldn't be going through this much. If I put a towel in the intake I get oil.

Do you know if the PCV is working properly? When I replaced my valve cover, my oil consumption dropped quite a bit.

Also, on my car, when I filled the oil to the top bulb on the dipstick, it would always be at least 1/2 a quart low, every week. If I left it halfway between the two bulbs on the dipstick, the oil consumption dropped drastically. It was like the extra 1/2 quart was going away quickly. I tried different brands of oil, but didn't notice a difference. Fixing oil leaks and replacing the valve cover seems to have helped me a bunch.

I do get some oil in my catch can as well, but it is mostly water.

It seems odd that there are no leaks in your car, but maybe you are lucky.

Mike
