Clutch pedal play

Hi guys. We picked up a lightning blue MCS yesterday for the wife to drive. Going through it now doing some basic maintenance. The clutch pedal seems to have some slop at the top where it mounts. This causes it to hit some component further down where it kinda wobbles as you depress. I haven't taken a very close look, but I think I could tighten it up with washer under the mounting clip? Maybe someone removed it? Any experience is welcome, thanks.

I have noticed in the last two weeks that my clutch pedal feels like it's leaning to the left brushing up against something. There is some sideways slop, I also thought it needed tightening. I'll have to investigate in the coming days.

I found a bushing for the pedal on ecs tuning, have ordered hoping it's the fix. I will update when it comes.

I found out what my clutch pedal was side swiping, there is on the back of the clutch pedal molded into the pedal is an integrated stopper that makes final contact with the firewall which is as far as the clutch pedal will travel. How you are even going to get close to this bushing is beyond my comprehension, it's way out of sight so I don't know how you will get this installed!

I'm side swiping what looks like the hydraulic pump directly connected to the clutch pedal, I should warn you it's made of guess you know what, plastic! Please let me know if this plastic bushing reduces clutch pedal free play moving from side to side, and thank you!

I'll let you know. I was able to put my hands on the pivot at the top, there is just a clip holding the pedal there. My guess is the bushing just slides in the pedal. Hoping there isn't more wear and tear than that.

Well it's been quite awhile since this thread was updated, so I thought I would update it. I purchased the bushing from ESC and installed it, there's still a lot of side play so I guess next is to install a new clutch pedal. I will update after installing a new clutch pedal.

I appreciate any and all assistance!

Thank you,
Systemlord

You beat me to it. I haven't had a chance to try the bushing, but someone in another thread said they had to use a metal shim to tighten it up.

In my case there was little room for any shim, I think that the plastic clutch pedal is structurally weak and flexible.
