2013 MINI question

Hello all. I have been driving a 2009 MINI for the last 4 years. I am now interested in a new 2013 MINI. My issue is this: Now that it is 2014, any unsold 2013 is now last years model, and should no longer carry a full sticker price.
Thoughts?

I would say true. Plus the new F56 models will be coming soon which should further encourage deals on 2013 models.

I also heard that Paceman's are a little harder for dealers to move - so there may be additional bargaining room there.

Also, don't forget to check on various buyer incentives at the miniusa website.

Timely post! I just bought an R56 JCW two days ago. Had to drive 6 hours to Chicago to find one(they are going fast). I was able to negotiate $2,000 off sticker.

They showed me their dealer incentive listing for January as proof that there were no longer any motor company incentives other than financing on R56's. So, it seems $2,000 was the max I could get since it was all coming out of the dealer's end.

They also gave me 20% off numerous accessories I purchased along with the car.

At the end of the year, any 2013 (or "leftover") has to be paid for by the dealer - as 2014 rolls around. All Mini/BMW offers and deals go off the table at that point, you are dealing with the dealership in having them try to move a car off the lot. It might as well be a used car trade in at that point.

I'm saying they are going fast as I was speaking of the JCW's. I started my search 3 weeks ago in a 5 state area around me, and there were very few. At the time I purchased mine last week, 6 of them had been sold.

The OP did not mention what trim level they were looking for-I was conveying my actual experience with JCW's.

Dan, you hit it right on the head. that's exactly the situation I ran into...I was expecting all kinds of motor company, corporate incentives...nothing...

2/2/14: I plugged in a Boston zip code at the miniusa website and get this page of incentives:
