Shrick is nice stuff which Shrick cams did you try and which valve springs did you match them with? Also what company did you get your connecting rods from? you are right lighter is better as long as its tough enough.

Getting Back to Engine Kits: Please drop a comment or wish list if you get to this page the more interest we show the better chance we have of getting some good kits going.

While nothing is ever one size fits all A matched Kit could include things like a power target range optimized weight and strength for connecting rods, getting support for asymmetrical pistons, matching cams and springs, and matching a harmonic balancer from actual harmonic testing. Ect. All good things and a bit hard to do individually.

Hi I finished my engine build a while ago I do have another planned but no time frame set. I do try to answer questions about general build stuff and would do what I can to help build interest and support for the MINI. You might want to try a fresh general post to see if you can get enough people together. If you have any questions let me know. As long as Im here I would remind anyone who does a performance build to keep an eye on their harmonic balancer as far as I know the stock N14 and N18 ones are OK but if yours is a bit old its a part to watch.
