M7 Pre Intercooler Charge Pipe

Hi All,

I am new to the mini world, purchased a 2010 MCS this past December. I came over from the Saab world, and am quite happy with my MCS, fun to drive, sounds pretty cool, and handles like well.. you know.

What I would like to see is a little more grunt and pull off the line. I was cruising M7tuning.com and came across the M7 Pre Intercooler Charge Pipe, http://www.m7tuning.com/m7-pre-inter...-pipe-740.html

Does this work on a stock set up? Has anyone out there used it? is the few extra HP worth it?

Thanks everyone.

Wow.... Trust me, it has been done before once or twice. I prefer NM for the hot side pipe. See mod list below for ideas. Good luck.

It does nothing. I have a straight pipe. Don't pay more than a few bucks for this mod as all you're paying for is name brand BS and a sticker.

LOL from their site:

Realistically, you will see little to no gain. You will increase flow ever so slightly. It will benefit you more if you get an aggressive tune. However, if you're only doing a stage 1 or 2 tune, they're not needed. I have the NM tubes, hot and cold side, and I like them. They add a little pop underhood (not much as most of it is hidden) and I wanted to do something to car mostly. I like working on my own car, so I did these in an hour or so with a new CAI set up.

In terms of performance in stock form, you won't notice anything as you're driving.

On that particular tube there's a muffler to well muffle to turbo. Replace it and you will hear the turbo spooling. Correct me if I'm wrong it doesn't do anything but give you more engine noise.

I used the Alta version on the hot side to get rid of the muffler and get less restriction. You can hear the turbo spooling and more noise. I may do the cold side NM hose at some point.
