Catch Can Choice

What's up motorites?

My '08 MCS is due for an oil change. After finding access oil in my intake hose a couple times now, I've decided to install an oil catch can.

I know the responsible decision would be to go with the BSH or M7 cans, but has anyone had any experience with a less expensive alternative? I know they make generic ones that can be as low as 35 bucks. I don't want to install any cruddy parts on my mini, but I would imagine that this is one of those parts where the top-of-the-line may not be necessary. I may be wrong, someone school me!

Thanks

I looked and looked. With less expensive cans you usually have to cut into your stock tubes and I didnt want that. I have the BSH and it has adapters that allow for better fit. I too didn't want to swallow the cost of a OCC, but like you, after I found oil in the inlet tube and I didn't car to have that in my turbo / intercooler. So, I bit the bullet.

So what I didn't want to hear haha. Alright. To be fair, a used one should be alright as well right? I can't imagine them taking much wear and tear.

Yeah, there shouln't be an issue. the rubber might be a little worn. But that shouldn't really be an issue.
