cabin microfilter-Genuine, Mann or ??

I need to purchase a cabin micro filter for my mini cooper S hatchback. I can purchase the Genuine Mini parts for $50 or pay $17 for Mann or another OEM brand. Is there much difference in performance between the brands?

Part number is 64-31-127-516 activated carbon filter from Pelican parts

Thanks in advance

nope. I'm glad I changed the one on my 2011 cuz when they (mini) installed they bunched up one end leaving a huge bypass around it

Also was a lot of grass and tree seeds etc on top. It's a huge filter, I was quite impressed, size does matter.

I just installed Mann carbon activated from Pelican Parts.
P/N 64-31-9-127-516 Think it was about $16-$19

Looked pretty much the same as the stock one and easy to install.

Did you have to go through the battery compartment or from inside the cabin under the dash to remove it?

Funny, I just replaced my in-cabin microfilter yesterday.
It was a snap.

I went with this one for my 2008 MCS:
Mann-Filter CUK 4436 Cabin Filter With Activated Charcoal for select Mini models

I've never replaced this before, and the dealer always replaced it for me when my car was under warranty. When I removed the old one, it was the exact same filter, with the exact same Mann part number on it. The only difference is that it didn't include the small arrows on the side, and had "MINI" added to the product name.

So yeah, get the one from the Amazon link above, (depending on your model) and save some $$$.

BMW/MINI does not make filters, or oils, or tires. Or many other things in your car.
The dealer resell white-labeled OEM supplier parts at great mark-up.

Mann is one of German OEM suppliers frequently showing up as OEM filter supplier for BMW/MINI: oil filters, air filters, cabin filters.

Can't go wrong with MANN filters.
Will save a bundle buying direct when you do.
