I know you posted this a while ago.... But while I cannot say much on the sport cup suspension, I will say the RSB upgrade is the biggest upgrade you can make for so little money.

Also take a look at the BMS Clutch Stop. It makes the clutch pedal feel so much better. There is too much travel in our clutch pedals. There is a thread somewhere on it here, take a look there and see what everyone has said.

I appreciate the input! Yea I have now idea why I haven't ordered a clutch stop yet! And a rear sway bar is definitely in the future!

Sounds good! I think I used 3 of the 4 loose washers they sent for the perfect difference. But from what I read on the dedicated thread, there may be different style washers and you might want more or less than 3 for the "perfect" fit.

What experience do people have with blacking out the chrome band around the base of the windows? Really want that gone!

outmotoring sells a blackout tape that tapes right on and is very durable for less than $20. I did it in about 1.5 hours (really gnats assing it) and only used half a roll. Check it out here:

Was it difficult to remove the oem downpipe and install the upgrade? Did you have to put car in service-mode?

I had a mechanic/fabricator do it, took him less than an hour, but no he just popped the hood and swapped it, the heat shield was the biggest pain according to him

I know this has been brought up before, but:

1. Underhood temps in the Cooper S are wickedly hot; see all the threads about warped hood scoops.

2. The factory induction system draws air from outside the engine bay, up behind the grille. Essentially, a cold-air intake.

3. These mods move the intake into the engine bay. See #1. Then they call it a Cold Air Intake.

What gives? Apart from some exciting sounds, how is it better?

Cheers,

Spridget

I'm aware of the higher temps, but I love the sound, and I also got a notch style hood scoop that I opened up to try and catch more air into the hood

I don't see how Alta can call that a CAI... I have the AEM intake and opened up my scoop to create a functional ram-air intake. It gives me the sound I want as well as colder air from outside. The shield that goes over the turbo does an excellent job of keeping the heat off of the new intake tube.

It's hard to tell, but the picture of the hood scoop shows how I kept the stock scoop grille, but I used an angle grinder to chop off the back half. Normally this is solid with 3 or so small holes for venting (I think)... Now it serves as the actual intake.

^ When I was running the stock hood scoop I just unscrewed the black mesh and ran without it. I used plastidip to cover up the body color behind the scoop to clean up the look.

I've had it in for a while, the difference, even with my old JB+, was very noticeable!

I can't even tell you how awesome it is, a nice rev up to 4 grand will make a nice machine gun pop, even to red line I get some awesome pops, get myself next to an onramp with a wall or under an over pass and it echoes so loud. A over the rev range gets me pops now.
