Hi RPM (REALLY HIGH) upon startup idle
Hi All,
It's happened to me twice now. I have a 2008 Justa Cooper manual with 78K miles on it. Upon startup, idle, just sitting there with foot on brake, the RPMs just linearly and smoothly kept rising towards 4000rpm. The first time it happened, I just shut the car off, then turned it back on and it cleared up. Just today, I shut it off three times, and it continued to repeat. I checked that the pedal itself wasn't stuck. Being that I had to get to an appointment, I put it into first gear and gingerly let the clutch up, and the RPM's came down, and the car more or less drove like normal. Has this happened to anyone? What's the deal? And how was it fixed?
Thanks,
Tony
