R56 Compression Issues

I bought a 2007 base Mini with what I was told was a blown head gasket. It ended up having bad rings also. I honed the cylinders, replaced the rings and replaced the head gaskets and still have low compression in cylinder #3 (~60psi). I am not sure where else to go with this vehicle whether its a cracked head, leaking valves or even a cracked block, which I can't imagine with steel liners. Any tips or information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Most likely a valve. Do a leak down test. Too bad you didn't have the head checked when you had it apart.

You should have had the head checked over at a machine shop to make sure it wasn't cracked and/or warped.

I had the head machined so I'm not worried about it being warped. After tearing this engine apart four times, I'm finally cutting my losses and parting out the car.
