Oil leak in 2009 mini
Hello all,
I've been coming here a lot since finding this forum a couple of years ago to help diagnose the problems with my car. I have a question about oil leaks. I noticed a leak around a week and a half ago which I thought was a coolant leak. I checked the level of the coolant and it was low so I added more. I then checked the level a week later and I was low again. I concluded that I have a coolant leak and I need to take it in. By the way my water pump was replaced in early 2013. I took my car in yesterday to tell my mechanic about the leak and to get an oil change. He pressured the cars and told me that he can't find a leak but he does see oil build up on the side of the engine. He told me to bring it back on Monday so he could do more research. I looked at my car this morning to see if I could find the leak and I did. I'm posting pictures to see if someone can tell me what the issue is. I did a search on the site and it might be a solenoid issue or an oil pump issue.
By the way I don't take my car to a dealership because I find them to be very rude and expensive. I have been taking my car to a mini specialist whom has been doing a good job. And I have already had my valve cover gasket replaced last year. Thanks for the help.

Yea, looks like the Vacuum pump. Comes with a new gasket also.
Looks like a Justa Cooper : 2009 MINI Cooper (NON S ) . There is no turbo in front and you have the heat shield over the manifold. Currently have them in stock.

A seized vacuum pump will destroy your engine! It will lock up your exhaust cam and do serious damage to your engine, don't wait too long to act.
I don't see any oil near you valve cover, only under your vacuum pump. It's simpler to replace the vacuum pump than it is to replace your spark plugs.

I picked up my car today. $209 for the part and $440 for labor. I immediately noticed that the car drives much better. Engine seems like it is shifting way better than before. My car has around 95,000 miles on it and so far, besides tires, breaks, battery, I have replaced the water pump, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, and now the brake vacuum pump. But I still love my car.
I forgot about the thermostat housing I had replaced last year. It's like twice a year I need to get something fixed.
