instrument clusters extremely dim

hi,

just upgraded from a 2005 mini cooper to a 2007 mini cooper S today but found that the instrument cluster, at night with the headlights turned on is EXTREMELY dim. so dim that i can't read anything. i either have to look up close or shine my phone's flashlight on it. i dont see a dimmer button like on the 2005... is there a way to make the instrument cluster more bright?

The brightness is on the bottom left of the tach, somewhere near the 0 at the rpm

Hold the button (left) until it gets its brightest, that push once at a time until desired brightness is reached.

No, that's the post on the other side of the odometer window.
