swap amp in mini cooper s R56
i haven't checked yet, but i've read that the amp on a mini cooper R56 is in the boot cubby, is this right? i have the radio boost version (still crappy!). i have upgraded my front speakers but the speakers distort at higher volumes as the speakers are too powerful for the amp and the amp really struggles.
is it not possible to just replace the amp in the boot with a more powerful one and save a whole lot of time wiring things and removing the dash/odometer etc?
cheers indeedly

I've been researching some upgrades to this myself. Nice to see someone doing it at the same time. Keep me posted whatever you might find. I the mean, I did find out that there's a wire harness that just plugs into the existing wire harness to swap the front speakers for the rear. So when you adjust the speakers in the front your actually adjusting the rear. I read that it's an excellant mod for our stereos. Exactly what is does as far as watts, omhs and all the stuff, im clueless. The harness i did find it and i think it was 39 bucks.
