Curious about 215/45/17 size tires with 12mm spacers
Hey,
I've been looking around for an answer to this question for quite some time but I can't seem to find an answer.
I have the Challenge spoke wheels on my car and I'm interested in ditching the RF tires. I have 12mm spacers on the car right now and I was looking at getting Michelin PSS tires.
Trying to figure out if I'm going to have rubbing issues with the spacers and the wider tires.
The car isn't lowered and I'm not planning on lowering it anytime soon.
Any advice/insight?
Also, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires are available in the stock 205/45/17 size. What are peoples experience with those tires?
Thanks.

don't know about the michelins (I'm sure theyre nice) but I've got 215/45-17s on my car with no rub issues whatsoever. i don't have spacers either (ET45 on my NM RSe05s), but id imagine you'll be fine considering how much wheel gap stock suspension has. I'm guessing you're more worried about outer fender rub over bumps, since the spacers will push your tires away from the inner fender liner and suspension. if anything, you have some freedom to roll the fenders out a bit since theyre covered by the wheel arches.

Just install Michelin PSS 215/45-17 yesterday on Rota RB 17x7.5 rims offset 45. Currently running no spacers, have Koni yellows with JCW springs, IE fixed camber plates, so basically stock height, more or less. On the top side of the rim closest to the front strut, you'll not get a finger in there. Rear swing arm, same, close but no cigar. Went from RF to these bad boys. You'll notice the loss of the quick wheel response, as I feel a little lag in turning response, but again nothing to worry about. Ride is better. Sticky tires though, watch the weaving, it can get away from you! Probably going to add a 15mm spacer just to bring the front tire top edge closer with the flare. Now to get a repair kit for flats.
