Oil Issue

Hey guys, i've noticed that around the oil cap there is always like oil mist layer on the plastic, and when i take the cap off there is a decent amount of vapor coming out. Does the N18 have a pcv valve? Might this be a bad pcv valve if so? or just a bad oil cap?

I have an N14, but have never seen this issue. I would try a new oil filter cap first. Seems to be PCV related though.

Agreed, a failed PCV system built into the valve cover will cause excessive crankcase pressure, never heard of a failed oil cap before. It looks like it's spraying out instead of just leaking out, to spray a fine mist of oil you need pressure and if it was just leaking it would leak from the bottom instead of all the way around the oil cap. I would first check the oil caps rubber seal and look for flatness on the oil cap and where the cap seals. Your under warranty so it should cost you anything.

Yes, check the cap and around the area that has oil residue. You can clean it off possibly and keep your eye on it to see where it may be originating from. Or you can replace the cap 11127582398, clean the area off and keep an eye on it to see if the leak continues. Here is the break down of the cover on real OEM.

I had similar issue and dealer replaced oil cap - that solved the issue.
