I have a 2008 mini coop. My dome light works as well as my ambient lights, but a couple days ago my map lights on both sides stopped working. I've checked the f15 10a fuse for the interior lights and it looks good. Both bulbs look fine as well. Any ideas?

 

Rare to have both bulbs burn out at the same time, but guess it could happen did you pull the upper main light console out at any time ?

 

Nope. I didn't physically pull the bulbs to check them but I can see them clearly enough to see that they look good.

 

If you check out our ZIZA interior LED install. Make sure the harness did not come loose and both plug holders are twisted in the the wedge bulbs work.

Unfortunately I do not have the leds, although I am in the market for an interior led kit. Right now I just have the oem bulbs. My only concern is that if I buy the led kit and install is that I'm going to have the same issue.

 

I was using it as reference for the halogen bulbs for the bulb socket make sure the wedge bulbs are i all the way and twisted tight onto the board, also check the plugs to the main unit. We have o figure out why the bulbs dont work, then you can go the our LED kits.

 

Recently I was having an issue with my speedometer not working. I removed the unit and took it out and unplugged and then plugged back in. All the issues I had before seemed to be gone

THEN...

I noticed the speedometer and gas lights illuminate and everything was lighting up and working fine but now the interior console lights don’t work. The speedometer illumination lights, tachometer lights, AC and heater control lights and basically any light that’s on the center console the illumination lights don’t work. The steering wheel controls backlight doesn’t work either. However, when I do an IP test on the tachometer everything lights up and works on the speedometer pin and backlit numbers. I’ve checked every fuse and everything seems fine. Whatever controls the backlights for the tachometer, speedometer and centers console light illumination seems to be the issue cause i think it’s controlled by the same thing. When I had everything working I had hooked up a scanner to it, ever since then now the lights don’t come on. I highly doubt hooking up the scanner did any damage, but coincidentally speaking ever since I did that the illuminated lights on the center console don’t light up when the car is on.

please help! I’ve looked up everything possible and still no luck. Just frustrating cause once I get one thing working something else happens. Seems to have many electrical issues

any suggestions are appreciated!

I originally thought when the speedometer wasn’t working and I had engine codes that I needed a new ECU, but turns out just replacing the battery and resetting the speedometer cluster did the trick. Now I have another issue of no lights illuminated when the car is on. It isn’t an issue when it’s daytime but at night it’s dark and I can’t see anything

 

Kenny. for the sake of $2 or $3 I'd get a new pair of bulbs.
If they are wedge 194, there are over a dozen in various places on the car so it won't hurt to have spares.
