Subwoofer install

So I got an infinity bass link, powered subwoofer.
I've installed it by splicing into the rear speakers wires, grounding to body and power to a fuse.

My problem is the remote wire.

Right now I have the power looped to the remote wire contact. This keeps the sub on at all times. That's no good.

Where can I hook the remote wire where it will turn the sub on with the ignition ?

I soldered a remote wire into the driver's side rear trunk light on my 2010 non-s.
I have since got a scosche rca LOC with remote wire built in but I never had problems with the trunk light wire..

Or, you could grab the remote turn on from the factory amp. If you check in the audio section there is a post listing the pin outs on the amp.

I tried that on my HK amp #10 and I couldn't get a signal. I gave up and used the trunk light but I do like the LOC as it will only turn on when signal is fed to rear speakers. Also its a soft turn on so no thump ever.

Tap into the wire on the back of the cigarette light. It's always on when ignition is on. Always off when ignition off. Not gonna use the lighter a subwoofer at the same time if your a nine smoker are we ? I hooked my methanol up to it. Fuse is already installed.

im gonna try these suggestions.
All your replies leave me with another question.

If you got the remote wire on the light or the cigarette lighter, where is your power wire hooked up?

I'm so sick of this toggle switch, and if I forget to turn it off the whole neighborhood get a constant deep bass hum.

Thanks for the help people!

Gotta run a constant hot straight to the fuse box either under the hood or the passenger foot area. Hot to make it operate to the cigarette lighter.

OK so I'm good. With my power. I'll run a wire to the lighter in the back later today.

Why is it that if I run the wire to the lighters fuse, it's always on? All fuses are always on

Because when you open the door you wake the car up. After 15 mins, it goes back to sleep and turns it all off.

Just set it for signal sensing. It'll turn the bass link on and off when it sees a signal on the inputs.
