Bad Muffler?

My car seems to drone on the highway. I've checked the entire exhaust and the only place i see soot is at the exit of the muffler. Is this a weep hole? Could something be wrong with the muffler?

Make sure to double check to confirm that none of the welds have broken. The exhaust system wears out and becomes leaky with age. A leaky exhaust system is usually far noisier than an intact one.

I had it up on a lift and i don't see, hear or feel anything. I feel like i have the drone of a aftermarket setup without the fun of a aftermarket system
