Rim Question

I'm looking to get a new set of rims. I'm trying to get all black or possibly all black with a chrome trim around it. I need to know what size is the best for the car. I measured my rims and i got 17 inches but on the rim itself it has the number 14 written on it so i'm a little confused. I also won't be running runflats as i will just buy a spare or take a chance and pray to God lol (what do you guys do?). Is there a way to mount the spare in the trunk? also what are some good wheels for grip and longevity that won't break the bank. I don't want to spend more then like $600 on the rims if possible. I would like them to be lighter as well. And i would also like to get rims the same size as what i have so i could get them now and swap the tires without having to buy new ones. Unless one size is really good then i'll just get the rims and wait to put them on until i need new tires.

You might get an idea by going to:
www.tirerack.com
Plug in your car info and hit the wheels tab
It will list their available wheels for your car and will even show them on their MINI model.
The “14” probably refers to the stud size - 14mm.

The reviews section of Tire Rack pointed me to the BF-Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP 2 tire. I am very happy with my set for SUMMER. These are no use at all in snow or ice conditions. In summer though, they are very grippy and do offer very good water handling. They have been on my car for 2 summers and I expect another 2 out of them before I have replace them.

The Wheels and Brakes section of this forum suggested I upsize my 205-45-17s to 215-45-17s to reduce the price dramatically with little effect on the car. The slightly larger diameter leads to a change on the speedo (2-3 km/hr off rather than the factory 5km/hr) and you must ensure all your splash guards are properly installed to eliminate rubbing at full steering lock.

Good luck!
E
