Clutch Failure

I am looking to replace my clutch and I was given the choice while looking for a replacement kit. The website asked me which of these two 6 speed getrag transmission was in my Mini.

1) GS6-85BG
2) GS6-55BG

How do I know which one it is. All help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Erik

There are very small differences. We do all our clutch kit orders by VIN to make sure they are always right. Check out our kit as it has everything you need.

Check out the RealOEM site --- http://www.realoem.com/bmw/index.do

It's an illustrated parts breakdown for our Mini's and a great source for info. Your xmission PN should be available once you get in. You only need the last few characters of your VIN.

We have clutch kits here if needed and if you want you can shoot me a PM with your vin and I can make sure you get the correct one. When doing a clutch job, it's always a good idea to replace the rear end seal on the engine at the same time and also replace the throw-out bearing (included in our kit), flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts and guide tube. You should also replace the clutch release fork and the master/slave cylinders at the same time for added insurance. I can help you with these parts as well.
