Tires

My 07 MCS currently has 215/45/17 on it. Would 225/45/17 fit it or are they too big?

215 is already larger than the 205/45 OEM size. Are you running factory wheels? I honestly don't know if 225/45 poses any issues but I'm sure you'd be able to correct any possible rubbing issues with spacers, especially if you're on OEM suspension.

The wheels are not OEM but were on it when I purchased it. They don't rub and when I turn the wheels there is still a lot of room inside the wheel well. I really don't want to miss out on a free set of 4 tires if they will fit

I honestly think you'll be fine, especially if your wheels' offset is less than OEM, which is pretty usual. I would do it if I were you, especially if they're free.

Try searching the wheel/tire forums as well. Please keep us posted.

I run 225/50/16 BFG comp2 on stock wheels without spacers. Its really close to the struts but it fits. Take a look how close you are to the strut and if theres space go wider. Also I'm stock height.
