Sunroof Shade Curtain Not Retracting

So, the curtain for the sunroof is not retracting properly when I push it back. Is there an easy way to fix this?
Note: Please don't suggest the Zeepee Shade thing, I need something that slides in like the one that comes with the car.
The car is a MCS 2008.

Thanks in advance.

i dont think there is an easy fix.
you could remove it, disassemble it, figure out what has failed and attempt to fix it.
replace it, costs about 150/each iirc
My shades do still kinda work, back one has a little ripple in it. I ended up tinting the front and back glass dark as hell when i did my windows, not sure what that alone costs but i cant imagine it being more than $75

Thanks for the advise.
Mine is just not retracting like it used to. When I close it, it's basically hanging like a very bad assembled tent, even halfway. When I open it for some sunlight to come in, then it looks normal, but I can't have it open all the time with the Florida sun burning through the glass.
I've heard some people have easily repaired it, but they've had issues with water coming through afterwards because they have to remove the whole sunroof to do it.

right there with yea in the florida sun, it's brutal. i did mine, and a week later my pops had me get his done on his clubman . it rejects a whole lot more heat that the shade blocks. pulling the shade out is almost not necessary anymore

Randeez, did you tint the roof windows your self? I tried taking it to the place that tinted my windows and they said the sunroof has to come off the car for them to do it. I was thinking about just trying to do it myself since they are relatively square and flat. Plus if I mess up, it can just be peeled off for a retry.

I'll give this a try. There seems to be some tinting on it now but it looks minimal.

Try a different tint installer. Had mine done and they didn't take the glass out..

I had the same problem but with both front and rear sunshade, the price for each one is like $150 so total is like $300 +shipping. I considered this way too expensive for a shade that does not do its job completely. So i ended up removing them both, then i tinted both glases and put Zeepee Shade, i could not be more happier with this zeepee shape as they block the sun almost 100%. Car stays cooler and i can feel the difference of before and after.
Oh and i almost forgot to say that the oem sunshades were making all kind of sounds.

I think I may look into the zeepee shade as I see it advertised for 39.99. That seems fair for both sunroofs as well as the cups and bag. Anyone else have any reviews or feedback with it?

I have had Zippee Shades since 2010. After 6 years, one of the grommets came out. They replaced the set for 10.00. Great people...great service!
I highly recommend Zippee shades, especially in the summer time.

I put a perforated Union Jack decal on the sunroof, the kind you can see through, that they put on the sides of busses. The installer, Quick Signs, said it lets 25% of the light through. I never use the shades.
