Going Fishing

Need some suggestions here. Swerved and avoided a major accident the other day but in the process hit an orange construction cone. Small scrape on the plastic under the city/fog light was the worst damage. However, it knocked the bulb out of the city light. Can't get my finger in there and was looking for ideas to get the bulb out. HELP!!!!

Thanks

Can you find the item in this application guide? If so, we should be able to help tell you how to replace it.

After re-reading this I need to clarify that the bulb got knocked out of the socket and is loose inside the light fixture. I have a new bulb but can't get the old one out of the housing. And it's the city/fog light under the bumper. Thanks

You may need to remove the housing from the bumper to try and get the bulb out. In our tech article we have you remove the front bumper, then remove the three T20 Torx fasteners (red arrows), and finally remove the lens assembly from the bumper cover. This might give you more access to snag the bulb. I'm not sure, but you might be able to remove the lens as well.

Thanks. I ended up getting it out this morning. Wasn't that hard but a PIA. Took the wheel off and gained access to the hole, which by the way is very small. Used a piece of Bamboo skewer and some Blue Tac and fished it out. The tough part was getting it out through the hole as the bulb just barely fits through and I now had to get the skewer and the bulb through. Finally was able to get stuck to the very end of it and pull it out. Like I said, a PIA!!!!

Thanks again

FWIW you can remove the city light (or foglight) without removing the bumper. It's pretty easy on the pax side but the washer bottle gets in the way on the driver's side and must be partially removed. I don't know how long it takes to remove and replace the front bumper but I removed my right light in about 20 min, 45 min for the left. See post 11 in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...nt-how-to.html
