2007 MCS Exhaust Options
2007 Mini Cooper S with leaking flex section at front of car. I am looking for a low cost option for replacement. I'm not interested in performance exhaust. I would like to keep stock.
Dealer quoted me $2370.00 CAD for the OEM part. These are my options:
1. Purchase new flex section, cut out old one and weld in new. pipe seems to be 2-1/4" so I should be able to match something up.
2. Aftermarket direct fit: Not readily available apparently! I have come across the following options:
CATC0 5125 (www.catcoglobal.com)
Eastern Catalytic 41023 (www.easterncatalytic.com)
Magnaflow 49846 (https://www.magnaflow.com)
Are there more option out there for a reasonable cost or am I just missing them? I' leaning toward a new weld-in flex section.....
Any advice is much appreciated.

There's no shortage of Mini's in salvage yards. You might be able to get the part via salvage. You might have to buy the entire exhaust system to get it, but it still may cheaper in the end.
Than's a lot of $$$$ for that part. Wow!!
I bought an entire JCW interior, including leather seats, from a salvage yard, for less than the OEM replacement cost for the passenger seat sensor(s).

Are you sure its leaking out the flex pipe and not where the flex pipe connects to the downpipe? If its leaking where the two pipes connect you can just get a new clamp and gasket for like $30.
