P115C and rough could start

About 3 weeks ago, I got a CEL, pulled the code (P115C), and did some research. Car ran fine. Cleaned the MAF sensor and no problems until yesterday. It was a slightly cooler morning that it has been. Car started rough, sputtered, and died. It did this a few times, but then started up normal and no CEL. Halfway to work, CEL-P115C. Cleared the CEL and no issues for the rest of the day. Same thing this morning, rough starting, but after a few times, normal and again halfway to work, same P115C. Some of the possible issues I've found are the MAF, vacuum leak, valve cover gasket, or PCV. So, I did a few quick searches and found out that you have to replace the entire valve cover. My question, has anyone had any luck cleaning out the PCV? I've done this in other vehicles and I'd rather not drop $400 just for the PCV. I figure while I have the valve cover off, might as well replace the gasket.

Thanks in advance.
