It is a great exhaust. I have it with the stock downpipe and it has a great sound with no drone at highway speeds. It is not much louder then stock. For a catless downpipe you should check out Mariokart on this forum. he makes a real nice one that i believe does not throw a cel.

I have it on two MINIs, both with the Akrapovic downpipe, if it wasn't the best I wouldn't have it on both cars!

It really is the best as it's not too loud, doesn't drone and fits perfect. Plus has those sexy carbon fiber tips. I run one on my GP and actually installing one on a roadster later this week.

Dear WMW,

I have a GP2 and am considering the Akropovic cat back exhaust.
  • will it cause a cel?
  • does it provide any more hp?
  • how different is the exhaust note from the stock GP2?
  • does it affect the burble on the GP2?
  • Any other benefits you can think of?
  • Any downsides?

Thank you!
Steve

I put one on my GP and the biggest improvement was it got rid of the drone I had from the stock GP JCW exh with no back seats.
You won't get any lights or issues from it as it is truly a 15min bolt on as it fits perfect.
And the Carbon tips everyone will comment on cause they are so awesome.
You still get the GP burble.
Claiming any HP would be false but it doesn't hurt as the HP comes from the downpipe.
We offer FREE shipping on the Akrapovic exhaust. Happy to get you one.

I can attest to the awesomeness of the Akrapovic as well. Way got 'em for Buzz a couple of years ago and they sound terrific. And, as he said, no drone!

Hey Keith,
Thanks for the endorsement! I have been looking at this exhaust for a while - love the carbon fiber tips too.
