Wing Mirror Replacement: Possible to switch electrical connectors?
Hi, folks.
Long story short, my passenger side chrome-capped mirror on my 2009 MCS got damaged. A quick perusal of chrome mirror caps (at this point, I thought the mirror housing was okay, as the power mirror movement was okay) showed me that a used mirror with chrome cap was cheaper. Found one on ebay for a 2008 for a non-folding mirror. I assumed it was the same as mine and figured I'd just swap the whole mirror because I hear broken "bits" moving in the mirror when I shake it a bit. I recieved the mirror and the electrical plug connector is different than mine. Is it possible its for a heated mirror? Are the 2008 non-folding mirrors different than the 2009? Is it possible to somehow use the plug from my old mirror on the new one? If not, I'll likely just mount the mirror and adjust with my fingers, since I don't need to move it much. It's in really great shape and I got it at a good price.
Many thanks!
