CC-ID 167 Reset Clock

I have a 2013 Cooper S. I disconnected the negative terminal to change the head unit. Now I can't set the clock and getting a fault code of CC-ID 167 Reset Clock. I saw videos where you can change the clock on the odometer using the turn signal stalk. Anyone knows how to reset this? Thanks.

Here's a Youtube link:

It's easier to link than explain.

You can't set it because the date/hour info is stored and pulled from the OEM radio.
Then you are using an aftermarket radio, but I think there would be a way to get the info from the new unit.
But I could be wrong.

Let me know!

I don't have the option to set the clock going through the set/info menu on the stalk. I remember when I did a trial install, the clock was still working with the aftermarket. Then I removed the negative cable from the battery so I can run a constant power wire. Wired the aftermarket up and connected the negative. Lots of beeps and chimes which I didn't pay attention. Install the dash back on. Didn't notice the clock wasn't working till the next day. Too lazy to have to remove the dash again.

Since my navigation comes with backup camera input, I decided to go ahead and install one this weekend. Will be removing the aftermarket and reinstalling the factory radio. Hopefully, I should be able to set the clock. This time, I won't disconnect the battery. I'll post back the results. And thanks for replying.

I think that your aftermarket radio must support the clock/date info on the tach.
Do you have any manual or brand/model to investigate?
Because if you need to disconnect the battery or change it next month, you will have the same problem again.

Regardless of this, your new radio looks really great.
I would love to have one of those but my Mini has the separate volume button (silver CD changer) and there is only one model I can buy and it is not as nice as yours.

Thanks, Miniuy! It does not support tach info. I bought mine from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-media-dvd-radio-for-Mini-cooper-2006-2013-with-MP3-bluetooth-andrdoid-5-1-system/32805370646.html. It's very nice and I am very happy with it. The support from the company is amazing.

Due to losing the OEM radio, I lost the warning chimes and accessory power. But got it all back by installing this: https://axxessinterfaces.com/product/LC-BMRC-01?page=7

Yes, I realize that I will have the same problem when changing or disconnecting the battery again. I'll post back the results of the clock and the new backup once I get it installed tomorrow.

OhioMini2013,

Could do you install the additional interfaces and retrieve the information and sounds with the aftermarket unit?

Please let us know!

Did you ever fix this error code? I get the same error but now I can't adjust the clock...

I bought a similar android device for my 2015 countryman. Looks great but so many issues. No chimes, fuel light display is super dim, for some reason mine keeps the km/h light on all the time at the top of this device (even when the car is off).

I have also replaced the head unit of my 2013 R60 ALL4 with an aftermarket Android unit that I am very happy with. Mine was ~$900 btw and I have only a few minor things lost. I do have chimes display is great. Back to the clock. The manufacturer of my unit confirmed that the new unit cannot change the time. I have an OBD scanner and software and was hoping I code change the time there...no joy. I'll asks the dealer next time I have it in for service. Worst case, I'll just plug the old unit in and try to reset it that way.

I ended up returning my unit. I had two things that I did not like:

1) Can't reset the clock
2) The speedometer light was always on:

I tried 2 different units and always the same 2 things occurred.

that’s unfortunate. I did a lot of research before I decided on the unit that I purchased. I asked the manufacturer a lot of questions before hand to make sure that there wouldn’t be any issues with functional compatibility. That said, I was disappointed about the clock issue, which by the way came up when we had daylight savings time and I came to the conclusion, confirmed by the manufacturer, that they head unit does not allow you to adjust the time on the speedo. there are a few other minor things that you can’t do like changing some of the convenience features, locks, wiper frequency, and so on. These can be changed with OBD software and a scanner. Overall though, the added functionality of the touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, NAV, are well worth the trade-offs IMHO. If you are interested, I can send you the link for my unit, but as I said, it wasn’t cheap, actually close to $1000 when I added the CarPlay unit. Despite some of the minor shortcomings, I am very happy with it.

well, because I am OCD, I simply could not stand looking at the blank time on my speedo, and even more annoying was the little warning triangle with the “!”. So I bit the bullet, partially pulled out the android unit, and plugged the old unit back in. That took some time to figure out what to plug back into what, not everything needed to be plugged back in or disconnected from the android unit, but I was able to power up the OEM unit and reset the clock. Now that I know what to do, I figure it will take me about 30 minutes, the next time I’ll have to do it is when daylight savings ends in spring next year, LOL. And for those of you who have had issues with the units you purchased, the only comment I would have is that you get what you pay for, no disrespect intended. I researched units for about four months before I came to the conclusion that I wouldn’t get anything good if I didn’t spend at least $600 to $700, MINIMUM. I also made sure that I bought it directly from the manufacturer, not just a distributor.

Sure, curious to know which one you got. I bought a foxwell obd tool, nice device but tried to see if it had a way to reset the clock but it did not...

That's a temporary PITA fix lol.

Anyone tried using this software to reset the clock: http://www.navcoder.com/downloads/Na...avcoderrelease

People say it can sync the PC clock to the vehicles clock. You'll need a USB to obd connector...
