That is one piece. The cowling and the "seal" are not separate pieces.

Yep, mine looks like that as well. As stated, you have to buy the entire part.

I just ordered that kit from ECS. The rubber seal part decays in the sun.

You could have saved around $20 on the cowl panels from here https://thebmwminipartstore.com, better prices than ECS Tuning. All of their parts come straight from the dealer so no extra markup

I'll be buying one of those soon too. That's one complaint about just about all BMWs, the rubber they use just falls apart in the sun. Also they use polished aluminium instead of chrome for a lot of the brightwork, which gets tarnished easily and is very hard to polish back shiny.

The BMW MINI STORE doesn't have better prices for everything plus they don't have free shipping. I just looked up the intake boot I need, its 10 more plus 9 shipping, so 19 bucks more isnt good for me. Thanks anyway... I'll stick with ecstuning or fcp

ECSTuning has been there for me for my parts on my BMW Z3M coupe for almost 5 years with FREE shipping... Plus Awesome black Friday Deals. Last year I bought my SuperSprint exhaust for my Z at 50% off of 1500.00... Can the BMW Mini store do that?

I've seen several Mini's with this same issue. None, like mine, leak any water in that area though.

I'm going to try using some black adhesive silicone, rather than replace the entire cowl plastic and rubber.

Ok, post up how it turns out. Also when they change windshield ( which happens alot on MINIs) it might be a mess to replace the windshield (safelite) if it bonds to the glass. Unless you are doing it some other way?

Im not getting any water inside. My parts should be here tomorrow. I'm going to have a glass shop repair my seals. The top windshield seal is also bad, I ordered that one too.

Ok, let us know how it goes, and watch those windshield people and make sure they do it right, just a heads up to watch the A-pillar trims also if they remove the glass.

ECSTuning,
. My A pillar trim pieces are already sitting low. Can the glass shop fix that or is that another problem...

The seal at the top might not be lined up or the a-pillar trim was clipped in a little lower, mine in the past was broken on previous owners repair so they glued them back on lower and broke the clips.
If the clips are fine, they can get it off and reset it.
They need to have a good trim kit and watch what they are doing.

UGGG...Samesies! the rest of the Cowl is fine, but the seal has dry-rotted. Does anyone know if these are difficult to replace as a DIY or do I need to take to a repair shop. If so, is it a windshield repair or auto body? TIA!

You can do it yourself on those main trim/seal combined pieces. More info here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ld-cowl-3.html
