A/C click noise under the dash

This MINI Cooper 2010 with manual air conditioning was 3 months in the garage.
The A/C works as expected in any of the 5 positions (feet, windshield, panel) in hot, neutral or cold function.
The issue occurs when changing the A/C button from one position to another one (consecutive or non-consecutive, in any direction).
There is something behind the speedo or the dash doing a clicking noise (3 or 4 clicks, 2 per second)

Could it be that after so many months without using the car something needs to be lubricated?
Do I have to disassemble the entire dash to get to the system?
I really don't know what to expect or what I'm going to find ...

I think you might have a faulty blend door. It is the actuator that moves when choosing hot to cold and even the positioning, I think. I'd assume that it is located near the blower motor which is accessed through a panel on the right side in the driverside foot well.

Hope that helps.

I have read something related the actuator failing, but since I hear the noise coming from the speedo zone and not from the cabin filter area I discarded that option.
Now I'm going to replace this part and I will let you know.

Thank you for your reply

I had the same thing happen suddenly last weekend. I went shopping at one store, then after I went to leave, the noise started. There's a youtube where the guy shows how to remove the filter. I did, then reached up into the cavity and felt for the blower cage, and there was a straw wrapper.
