Radio - can't find music on USB

I have a 2011 2 dr Cooper hardtop with the Boost radio. It has selections of Tuner, Aux, USB and something else... anyways, I took some mp3 music from my computer and dropped the songs onto a flash drive to play in my car. When I inserted the usb, it said it can't find it... like nothing was there. What's the problem? Will that radio read mp3's or does it need to be wav files? Also is there a certain format I need to prepare the flash drive? It's all coming from a PC, not Mac. Anyways, I am puzzled. Other than that, everything else works just fine. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Just want to say thanks for telling me to format the flash drive to FAT32... works great now! However... I had 2 flash drives to choose from, a 32 gb and a 64gb. I noticed that when I tried to format the 64gb flash drive, that the option was only exFAT? I went with it and placed the music mp3 files on it. Then I formated the 32gb flash drive and it clearly gave me the choice for FAT32. Also went with it and dragged the files to that falsh drive. The next day I inserted them and sure enough... the only one that worked was the one that I was able to form in FAT32 mode. Why was there only the option of exFAT for the one that did not work? Perhaps there a limit in the size of flash drive my Mini will take? Curious now to understand why there was no FAT32 option to format the 64gb drive. Thanks!

Do a search for alternative format apps or programs for SD cards that bypass that limitation. Should be a bunch of them.

Yep, Minnie is right again. Microsoft has a 32gb limitation on FAT32. There are apps that get around this limitation. For more info, google 'FAT32 maximum drive size'.

Aha!! So they do have a limitation after 32 GB? Good to know. I will definitely look for alternatives to change that limitation. Thank you so much for this information. I guess you learn something new everyday, right? LOL!
