R56 Extended Warranty for New MINI
#2
1. discussed often if you are willing to search
2. warranties such as you want are available from a BUNCH of sources .. b4 you buy what the dealer offers you may want to shop it ....
3. an extended warranty is complicated so it is wise to READ what's covered. I quit buying them after I realized NOTHING I had a problem with was ever covered!!!!
4. an extended warranty is nothing more than insurance against a break down. If your body breaks down it MUST be fixed and that is usually $$$$. I see health insurance as a no options decision. Your car? If you buy the warranty and your car never breaks you are simply out the money and this is how the insurance company makes money. What if you take that warranty monthly payment and put it in the bank? If the car never breaks down you have the money for other things. NOTE the difference is a MAJOR car repair might be $5000 while a major HEALTH repair can easily top $100,000 ..... It is a question of managing your money. If you can't rust yourself to build a $ reserve in the bank but CAN handle the monthly payment it might be an option for you. To ME, it is a bad investment ..... I HAVE sufficient cash reserves to handle ANY car repair. It might HURT for a while but I won't be grounded.

I had one for my R56 S (given to me as part of the deal, no cost dealer promo) and most dont cover the clutch and other MINI specific wear issues. It was hard to get them to pay for certain things. Factory CPO MINI warranty is a different thing.
