Seat Occupancy Sensor -- Hacking the Defective OC3 Mat with a Chinese emulator?
My damn airbag light has been on for 7+ years... I only found out about the "MINI Recall 15V-205: OC3 Mat/Prior Repairs" last year and missed it by 3-4 months... Bastards wont honor it for me. So, I am sick of the light on my dashboard... There are a few by-pass emulators that I am looking into, but i want to get away as cheap as possible. Does anyone have any experience with any of the things below? Any idea how to "hack" the chinese emulators to work for an 07 r56?
- $3.00 Chinese Seat Emulator.
- $13 Chinese (more legitimate looking) Seat Emulator.
- $35-55 Ebay Seat emulator

So I am thinking to actually repair this sensor. Has anyone done it before? Looking online, it appears that the sensor can probably be repaird.
- Info about the recall. They issued the recall in 2016. This means my 2007 mini had a 1-year "window" to get it replaced. Thats messed up. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...53778-9999.pdf
- It is probably just a broken contact on the pad itself. See the images of a r56 pad below.
