R56 Help with part identification

Help with part identification
Aloha everyone, I'm Bob, live on Kauai. Hoping you and your families are all healthy.
Need help identifying a part. My wife owns a 2015 Cooper base hatchback, 4 cylinder, 6 speed manual, so I think that makes it the R56 series. She's had it for 5 years now and it has 38,000 miles.
It was almost perfect, until yesterday, when she managed to misjudge and drive over a landscape rock. It ripped a piece of metal from underneath, and I'm trying to ID the part name. The piece is metal, probably aluminum, and is silver colored. Before it got crunched, it appears to have been fairly flat. When I lie on the ground at the drivers door, and look underneath, it appears to have been attached at about the midpoint left to right and front to rear of the underside of the car.
I'm thinking that is is some sort of heat shield, or an under body protective pan.
I've looked at several online parts catalogs and have not been able to ID the part. I also called Mini of Honolulu and talked to the parts department, and they were not able to ID it either.
Any ideas for the name of the part, or even better, a part number?

Photos of the part and, if possible, from underneath the car would help.
Also: are you sure it is an R56? Both R56 (second generation) and F56 (third generation) have four cylinder engines (the F56 may also come with a three cylinder engine) and a manual 6 speed transmission. But production of the R56 (3-door hatchback) ended in November 2013.
