DSS (Diversified Shaft Solutions) Axle

DSS in this case for Diversified Shaft Solutions, not to be confused with Driveshaft shop.

My 09 JCW with 110k miles needs a driver-side axle, and I'd like to replace both. Does anyone have these DSS aftermarket axles on their R56? https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...SVSI=MN02&fs=0

I noticed these aftermarket axles don't have the vibration damper on them, any extra vibrations? I'm looking for some more positive experiences or other bits of wisdom about aftermarket axles before I shy away from a genuine axle.

Thank you!

I "just" ordered a set of Sneed 4 Speed axles. Heavier construction, WAY less expensive than OEM.

Ohh, nice. I noticed an unlimited warranty for the original purchaser mentioned on the sneed4speed site for these, that says something.

Did you get them installed yet? From the pictures of these on their site, it looks like it doesn't include the passenger-side bearing bracket. What did you do there?

I haven't actually received them yet. I can post some pictures after they arrive.

I am planning on using the bracket already on the car.

I received the Sneed axles the other day. They look to be well built. However, the passenger side had a slit in one of the boots, so I’ll have to get in touch with them to see what needs to be done about it.

Frustrating. Besides that slit boot, they look solid.

When you get it straightened out and on the vehicle could you post about how it goes? Do you need the sneed4speed axles for the upgraded power rating? I don't need that, but at half the price of the genuine mini axles, and seemingly good quality, they are still a viable option.

Here are the other axles I'm looking at.

Detroit tuned has the DSS axles too and there's a comment about having had no issues.

They feel really well built. Got the drivers side installed, and the noises I had are gone. Still haven't heard back about the split boot. I may try to seal it with some CV boot glue...

Got a response from Sneed about the boot slit... they are going to send me a new axle, and I'll be returning this one. So far, their customer service has been pretty good.
