R56 Lower Windshield Weather strip

Hello guys, first time posting here,

I have a wonderful 2007 Mini Base. Recently, I've purchased a windshield cowl cover kit from ECS to brighten up the look of my car. The part of the kit is this rubber weather strip that connects to the bottom of a windshield. Part # 51312756196, and it looks like this, #1 on the picture:

When connected to a windshield, it also serves as a guide/rail to attach your cowls.
I have 2 questions, please help.
1. How do you install the thing? I'm having lots of troubles trying to do it, it simply comes off in the middle, when I clip in the ends. And even that takes an incredible amount of force applied.
2. Does it require some sort of adhesive to be installed? It seems like under the windshield where it connected before there's it has some sort of adhesive, like a gasket/silicone type, or something like that, but I saw someone said it goes in dry.
If anyone ever done this, I'd really appreciate the advice.
Thanks!

Just google search the part #'s or search the part number here in the forums, 9 out of 10 its been talked about here.

Facebook and other places are impossible to find information on.

Thank you for the response,

I've definitely seen the second post, it's mostly about the cowls and not the strip.
But I will try the silicone to make it slide easier. What about the adhesive, do you know?

Betalink is what is used on the windshield and thats what repair places use.
