early 2012 with early n18 - headgasket

anyone done a headgasket replacement on one of these early n18? Thanks.

Thanks, but not what I was asking. Im trying to figure out if the blocks on these cars **** out head bolt threads when the car is over heated and the head is removed like the BMW blocks.

I can tell you that my 2011 N18 overheated at around 110k miles and compromised the head gasket in a way that I was getting combustion gases into the cooling system. No oil in water or water in oil. I didn't have a machine shop locally that I could trust with machining the head (which I assumed had warped some), so I bought a good used 37k mile head and installed that with a new stock thickness OEM head gasket and all other related stuff, to include new head bolts of course, and myself and a BMW tech buddy of mine torqued the head according to spec in the Bentley Manual without any issues. Still doing fine at 127k miles. Hope this helps, and hope you have the same good results that I did.
