Random misfires and limp mode
So... I have a 2013 R56 S manual with 145k miles on the clock.
When I'm on the highway for a while, the car will start going into limp mode and throwing misfire codes. It happens usually when using cruise control, but always under light load while just trying to maintain speed. It never occurs during high load or high RPM situations, or in city driving. During hard accelerations the car feels healthy and sounds great, no stuttering or hesitation.
I have replaced the coils and plugs multiple times with OE and Genuine parts, and replaced the crank position sensor as that is what detects a misfire ultimately.
It will go away for a period of time after restarting the car but then will come back. It happened four times on a 260 mile trip just yesterday.
Any one else experiencing this or have any insights?
Thank you!
