Shifter Lights Stay on While Car is Off, drains battery

I noticed today after installing the Remus Responder that the "D" light on the shifter was on. Also, the Remus Responder module lights were still on after about 10 minutes. I have seen this happen in the past as the ECU runs its tests and powers down but not this long. It usually does its thing and clicks and buzzes and it power cycles and runs diagnostics and the lights eventually turn off.

The Remus is placed near the emergency brake is glowing like a Christmas tree. It kinda calls to all the tweakers in my neighborhood to break my window and find out what this strange cord with flashy lights does.

Is there a way to have this stuff power cycle off this stuff off without unplugging the battery. I would like to keep the security system on.

Put the power wire for it to a switched power source.
