Battery negative terminal briefly disconnected. Re-registration required?
I was putting on a terminal extension to my battery so I could more easily attach it to my Battery Tender, and the negative clamp slipped off for a few seconds. Do I have to re-register the battery with the car’s computer now?

Just in case someone who is not aware of the difference between a "battery reset" and a "battery registration" is reading this thread:
- When replacing a used battery with a new one of the same capacity, a battery reset is required.
- When installing a battery with different capacity from the capacity value stored in the car's ECU, a battery registration is required.
Re-connecting the same battery does not require either of the above, as long as the battery's charge holding ability has not increased (e.g. by reviving it) or significantly deteriorated while disconnected.
Also: batteries in cars with an IBS sensor should not be charged without the charging current flowing through the IBS sensor.
