ECU and FRM Not on Speaking Terms?
I have a 2011 base model Cooper that needed a new ECU. I got a replacement module that is supposedly coded to the car, but there's a problem. It starts and runs fine and seems to drive normally. But none of the lights work, nor the windows. The A/C, radio, sunroof, wipers and horn are all okay. But no turn signals, headlights, interior lights, brake lights, hazard lights or window operation.
Also, the service indicator (icon of the car on a lift) is lit up red and can't be cleared. I'm assuming it's some kind of communication fault with the FRM module because all of those systems worked normally with the original ECU.
Is there a way to "relearn" the FRM and ECU and get them talking again?
